A GREATER APPLEGATE
Formerly known as GACDC
The mission of A Greater Applegate is to sustain and enhance the community, environmental and economic vitality of the Applegate Valley.
In addition to operating the park, the GACDC serves the Applegate community (everywhere within the Applegate watershed) in other ways.

Our current project involves replacement of the outdated restroom building in the Cantrall-Buckley Park Day Use Area and updating the adjacent playground. Future facilities will be accessible to those with disabilities.

Letter to the Community
We want to let you know that Jackson County Parks has offered to resume its rightful role as manager of Cantrall Buckley Park, an offer that has been accepted by A Greater Applegate Board of Directors and Park Committee. County Parks is now self-sufficient and doing a great job throughout the county. Since the park is struggling on a shoestring budget, we think this is a good move for both the park and the community.
The county has pledged to continue to support community projects in the park. Your volunteer Park Committee is alive and well and will remain active through A Greater Applegate. The county assures us that they will keep the park staffed and open all year long.
More information will be available in the next issue of Applegater. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to come to a public meeting of the Park Committee at the Ruch Fire Station Community Center @ 6pm on Wed, Dec 13th to discuss this and future park projects. You also may leave comments in the Contact section of A Greater Applegate website at www.gacdc.org

A collaboration between A Greater Applegate and the Applegater Newsmagazine, the Ford foundation’s RDI process, and the Community Website Project has given birth to a new, interactive community website for everyone in the Applegate Valley to use: events calendar; directory of local businesses, non-profits, religious, and other groups and organizations; local news; community projects; and links to other locally pertinent websites and social media connections.
Now is a great time to check out the website and register your business or organization.
