NOW DOING BUSINESS AS:

“A GREATER APPLEGATE”

Mission Statement:

The GACDC provides assistance, coordination and resources necessary for economic and social activities that help sustain the livability of our community. Our primary responsibility, and the reason for the founding of the organization, is the operation and maintenance of Cantrall Buckley Park. The park land is owned by Jackson County but operation and maintenance responsibilities were turned over to the GACDC in 1996.

In addition to operating the park, the GACDC serves the Applegate community (everywhere within the Applegate watershed) in other ways.

Our current project involves replacement of the outdated restroom building in the Cantrall-Buckley Park Day Use Area and updating the adjacent playground. Future facilities will be accessible to those with disabilities.

For more information, see our Current Projects.

Here’s a way to support your park and have a chance at winning two airline tickets to fly anywhere in the States, or two nights at the MGM Grand Signature Hotel in Las Vegas. Look no further than Craig and Amber’s Ruch Market where raffle tickets will be on sale beginning in September, with the drawing to be held on November 19 at the Applegate Wine Trail Uncorked event. The raffle tickets are $10 each with discounts for multiples. The airline tickets for the first place winner are good from Dec. 2017 until Nov. 2018, with some restrictions. The Las Vegas stay is for the second place winner.

ApplegateConnect.org

A collaboration between A Greater Applegate and the Applegater Newsmagazine, the Ford foundation’s RDI process, and the Community Website Project has given birth to a new, interactive community website for everyone in the Applegate Valley to use: events calendar; directory of local businesses, non-profits, religious, and other groups and organizations; local news; community projects; and links to other locally pertinent websites and social media connections.

It is still in it’s infancy, but look for it soon at ApplegateConnect.org and see the next issue of the Applegater for updates.
